Fire Awareness and Fire Warden Training

The First Principle is market leading Health and Safety Training provider. We deliver Fire Safety Awareness training courses for individuals and groups, as well as Fire Warden training. Training can be delivered on your premises or at one of our training rooms.

This course will ensure that those nominated for Fire Warden (alternatively named Fire Marshal) are confident in their abilities to perform the role. In addition to a greater understanding about fire causes and impact, relevant aspects of fire safety and implementation are also covered.

The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 requires that “workers receive appropriate training on procedures they need to follow, including fire drills.”

In addition, information and instruction should also be provided to all employees regarding fire safety. A course designed to provide awareness of general fire safety can also be provided to assist with this requirement.

Fire Warden Training Course Outline:

  • An introduction to why fire safety is important.

  • Common terms used to understand fire.

  • Key components and conditions involved in starting a fire.

  • Methods of fire spreading – and means of prevention.

  • Fire classes and appropriate extinguishers.

  • Fire safety provisions at a workplace.

  • Legal requirements.

  • Fire Risk Assessments – the basics.

  • What to do in the event of a fire – actions and procedures.

As part of ensuring confidence in covering the duties of fire wardens, a walk around of the workplace, armed with new knowledge and information, can be conducted.
